The New Hampshire man killed Tuesday in a construction accident in Woburn, Mass., has been identified as 32-year-old Mark Camire.
The accident occurred during work on the Woburn Public Library project, when a piece of rock broke free from the foundation of the building and struck Camire, of Goffstown, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
Camire, who worked for the Schnabel Foundation Co., was pronounced dead on the scene.
The Massachusetts Medical Examiner’s office is determining the official cause of death. The Middlesex DA and the Massachusetts State Police, Woburn police, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death.
The district attorney’s office reported that the death is not considered suspicious, and that it would not release any additional information on the case.
In a statement, Schnabel Foundation Co. said it was saddened to report the fatal injury of Camire, a longtime employee.
“Mark was a member of the Massachusetts Laborers Union and a valued Schnabel employee,” the statement reads. “Our deep-felt thoughts and prayers are with Mark’s family, friends and co-workers, as well as everyone impacted by this incident.”
Schnabel reported that it is also in the process of investigating the accident, and that job site safety is always a priority for the company.
