Man wanted for probation violation leads Manchester police on foot chase

July 14. 2017 11:47PM

MANCHESTER — A man wanted for a parole violation took off on foot — at one point crossing Interstate 293 — on Friday afternoon, police said.
Officer Andrew Fleming spotted Coty Bourke about 4:30 p.m. in the area of Catholic Medical Center.

“Officer Fleming had information that Bourke was wanted for violating his terms of his probation,” police said in a news release. “When Officer Fleming approached Bourke to place him under arrest, he fled easterly from the area of CMC.”

Fleming pursued Bourke on foot across I-293 and down the riverbank, where he lost sight of him.

Officers then set up a perimeter.

Officer Derek Cataldo, his K9 partner, Lord, and officer Shawn McKennedy began to track Bourke.

About 5:40 p.m., the trio located Bourke hiding along the riverbank in the thick brush, the news release states.

Bourke was taken into custody and will be charged with resisting detention, reckless conduct, and violation of probation, police said.
