Police: Merrimack man charged with assault after argument with relative

MERRIMACK — A local man is charged with assaulting a relative during an argument, police said Thursday.
Charles Lafond, 57, was arrested and charged with simple assault Wednesday after police were called to a home around 6:20 p.m., according to a release.
Lafond allegedly threw a cup at the family member during an argument, striking the relative in the head and causing a laceration, the release said.
Lafond was booked and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail and is scheduled for arraignment Aug. 17 in Merrimack circuit court.
