Manchester police: City woman found passed out in car with sleeping child in back

MANCHESTER — A city woman faces drugs and other charges after plice said they found her passed out in her car at a West Side gas station with a sleeping child in the back seat.

Alyssa Lombardi, 31, was charged with possession of a controlled drug, operating under the influence of drugs or liquor and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

According to a release, officers were called to the Gulf Express, 21 So. Main St., at 1:45 a.m. Sunday, where the clerk said a Subaru Forrester had pulled up to the pumps about 12:20 a.m. and hadn’t moved. An officer said he found Lombardi passed out behind the wheel of the car, which wasn’t running although the keys were in the ignition. An open can of alcohol as next to Lombardi, police said.

In the rear seat was an unbuckled, sleeping 5-year-old child, police said.

Once awakened, police said Lombardi was unsteady on her feet. She consented to a search and police found .04 grams of heroin in three bags in her purse, according to a release.

Lombardi was scheduled to appear in Manchester circuit court Monday. The child was picked up by a family member, police said.
