Fish and Game: Two hurt when OHRV, deer collide in Claremont

CLAREMONT — Two young people were injured Sunday evening when the off-highway recreational vehicle they were riding collided with a deer, Fish and Game officials said.

According to a release, the two were riding on private property near Third Street and collided with the deer as they entered a field. Neither was wearing a helmet or eye protection, as required by law for riders under 18, when they were thrown from the vehicle, officials said.

The driver of the OHRV suffered a shoulder injury while the passenger suffered a head laceration and abrasions, officials said. Both were taken to Valley Regional Hospital for treatment.
