CONCORD — A longtime New Hampshire Republican congressional staffer is President Trump’s choice to become the chief spokesman for the U.S. Department of Labor.
The White House announced Tuesday its intent to appoint Jeffrey Y. Grappone of Concord to be assistant secretary of labor for public affairs.
For four years, Grappone was communications director and chief spokesman for former U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte, R-NH.
Since leaving that post, Grappone has been a senior communicator at the Siemens USA corporate headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Previously, Grappone was press secretary to former Sen. John E. Sununu, R-NH, and had been on the legislative staff of former Congressman Charles Bass, also R-NH.
