Fisher Cats take early lead, beat Fightin PhilsStaff Report

Richard Urena, Emilio Guerrero and Derrick Loveless each had two hits to lead New Hampshire past Reading 8-6 in an Eastern League contest Thursday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Reading, Pa.
The Fisher Cats got off to a fast start with four runs in the third inning. Loveless and Andrew Guillotte started the frame with singles before Loveless scored on a fielding error. Guillotte tallied on a single by Urena. Tim Lopes added a sacrifice fly and Guerrero added an RBI single.
The lead went to 7-2 in the fourth inning highlighted by a two-run double by Reese McGuire. Reading closed the gap to one before the Fisher Cats took an 8-6 lead in the seventh when Guerrero doubled and scored on an error.
Justin Shafer (5-2) got the mound win in relief and Dusty Isaacs earned his fourth save.
New Hampshire, which needs to win three of its last four games to avoid its worst campaign in franchise history, starts a season-ending four-game series today at 6 p.m. against Portland at Hadlock Field.
Jon Harris (7-10, 5.33) gets the start for the Fisher Cats (58-78) against Trey Ball (6-12, 5.38) for Portland.
