MANCHESTER — The Women Marines Association is looking for a few good female Marines to convene for a meet-and-greet on Saturday, Sept. 16, in Manchester.
Many sister Marines have been asking when their next get-together would be and whether it could be held in New Hampshire. They will have the chance to gather at the Southside Tavern, 1279 S. Willow St., from noon to 2 p.m. to meet with other sister Marines from the New Hampshire region. The event is open to all female Marines. Guests are welcome, too.
Attendees are asked to pay for their own lunch off the regular restaurant menu. Our brother Marine, Steve Irons, has graciously offered his pub for the event.
Jamie DePaola, USMC (retired), area director for the WMA, will be hosting the get-together.
The WMA is a vital and active veterans’ organization that works within local communities to make a difference. With an increase in the number of women serving in the military in recent years, there is also an increase in combat-related issues with our sister veterans when they return home. Its mission is “sister veterans helping sister veterans.”
