Brookline couple arrested, face DWI charges

September 12. 2017 11:00AM

BROOKLINE - A local husband and wife were each charged with driving while intoxicated Saturday night, police said.

Mark Kukla, 55, was pulled over by police about 10:30 p.m. on Route 13 for speeding and failing to dim his lights, police said. According to a release, police determined Kukla and his wife, Danyell Kukla, 46, appeared intoxicated. They arrested Kukla on a DWI charge, and drove Danyell Kukla home, police said.

After dropping off Mrs. Kukla, an officer returned to Mr. Kukla's pickup truck and was awaiting a tow truck when Danyell Kukla drove up to the scene and demanded the officer have her car towed instead of her husband's truck, police said.

She was arrested and charged with DWI.

Police said both Kuklas provided breath samples that showed their Blood Alcohol Concentrationw as higher than the legal limit. They each were released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and were scheduled to appear in Milford circuit court Tuesday.
