Hooksett roundabout

September 12. 2017 12:33AM

To the Editor: Regarding the proposed new roundabout in Hooksett on Route 3A, I truly do hope that the town and state fathers that have agreed to do this are going to put in a roundabout such as is in Manchester near Massabesic Lake, and not one like Routes 3 and 106 in Meredith. That one is so small that trailer trucks have to use the inner paving block circle to go around it.

I agree there is a need for some relief at 3A and Hackett Hill Road, but with all the trucks that will use it, it has to be a decent size or it will create new and worse problems. Trailer trucks that use 3A to go north and south, and Hackett Hill Road to get on and off I-93, are bound to create backups with a traffic circle, even a large one, just because of their size.

That little vegetable stand at that intersection would have to go.
