NHIAA Roundup: Bedford boys rally, defeat Hanover

Regardless of its record, Hanover is always a handful for any team in boys’ soccer. Londonderry, Exeter and now Bedford can attest to it.

Zach Verow and Charley Speaker scored 10 minutes apart in the second half to lead the Bulldogs past the Marauders 2-1 in a Division I contest in Bedford Wednesday. Mark Keiffer had an assist on Verow’s goal. Bedford (5-1) goalie Aidan Wisherd held the fort against Hanover (2-4).

Keene 4, Alvirne 3 (2OT): In Hudson on Tuesday, Alvirne couldn’t protect a 3-2 lead established behind goals from Nick Cardenas (penalty kick), Connor Lambert (from Cam Hilton) and Charlie Thomas. Alvirne goalie Jamie Bertrand had 12 saves

Raymond 7, Hillsboro-Deering 1: On Tuesday in Raymond, the Rams (6-0) got two goals from Chris Palmer and Scott Philibert. Andrew Dupuis, Tyler Belanger and Pat Moynahan each tallied once.

Girls’ soccer

John Stark 1, Hanover 1: In Weare, Cady Loos scored the lone goal for the 4-0-1 Generals.


Campbell 3, Raymond 0: In Litchfield, Cassidy Gibbons led the Cougars with seven kills and two digs. Merceidiez Diaz added five kills and Gabi Sott collected four kills and five digs. Mallory Reczko had four kills and one dig.

Salem 3, Goffstown 1: In Goffstown, Bridget Kennerson led the Grizzlies with nine kills and Bailey Gagnon amassed 21 assists.

Bishop Guertin 3, Nashua South 0: In the win for the Cardinals, Julia Pascucci collected three aces, six kills and 13 assists while Elizabeth Knapp had eight kills and 10 digs.

Portsmouth Christian 3, Epping 2: In Portsmouth on Tuesday, Epping’s Marissa Adams had three aces, six kills and 26 digs. Anna Re had one ace, 13 kills, 27 digs and three blocks.


Campbell: In Hudson on Tuesday, the girls finished first overall behind Caitlyn Callinan (first), Cassie Hemming (second) and Megan Whitnell (fifth). The boys finished first behind Jeffrey Allen (third) and Tyler Scopelites (sixth).

Field Hockey

Derryfield 8, St. Thomas 0: In Manchester, the Cougars (4-0) were led by Lindsey Stagg with four goals and Anna Welch with two goals and three assists. Tori Sipes added a goal and Holly Rohlff had an assist. Isabell Plotsker notched the shutout in net.
