Salem FD launches communitywide emergency notification system

September 13. 2017 11:56PM

SALEM — The Salem Fire Department Emergency Management Office this month licensed the CodeRED Community Notification System to help distribute critical information to the community.

The system is used by thousands of public safety agencies nationwide to initiate emergency notifications, enabling subscribers to receive updates directly to their email or smartphones.

The fire department encourages all Salem residents to visit the CodeRED link (https://public.coderedweb.com/cne/en-US/BFB7CC4C6C0A) and enter contact information into the data system. Residents are asked to include additional phone numbers and email addresses to ensure all of the data is accurate and current.

Officials will initiate a townwide call within the next few weeks to validate the information in the system. Those without internet access who would like to be added to the emergency database may contact the fire department communication supervisor at 890-2216 for assistance.
