Nashua man arrested in sex assault of girl, 9, at city pond

NASHUA - A Maple Street man faces two counts of felonious sexual assault after allegedly assaulting a 9-year-old girl Saturday at Sandy Pond.

James Bourque was arested about 5:30 p.m.

The girl told her mother and police she was “inappropriately touched,” by a stranger about 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the National Street pond, according to a release. Police identified Bourque, 46, of 10 Maple St., and arrested him.

Bourque is being held on $25,000 cash bail and was scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.

Police ask anyone with information about the assault to contact the Special Investigations Division at 594-3500.
