People in the town of Durham will be celebrating Indigenous Peoples' Day on Columbus Day, after a 7-2 vote by the town council. (KIMBERLEY HAAS/Union Leader Correspondent Correspondent)

To the Editor: Members of the PC mob do get themselves into such dreadful tangles sometimes.

No sooner have Antifa thrown all their toys out the pram while promoting the issue of tearing down statues of historical figures who practiced slavery than we hear that the Durham town council is considering renaming Columbus Day to honor indigenous people...who practiced slavery!

Before the councilors finalized matters, they should have just verified that the Abenaki didn't do anything else frightfully improper such as, perhaps, prohibiting visiting Wampanoags from voting in their tribal councils.
