NCAA Men's Soccer Roundup: UNH (6-0-2) wins on goal by Doherty

Jack Doherty's first collegiate goal, in the first half, gave the still-unbeaten University of New Hampshire men's soccer team all it needed to blank Quinnipiac 1-0 Saturday in Hamden, Conn.

Doherty, a sophomore from Meriden, took a pass from Josh Bauer and scored at the 16-minute mark. The assist was the first collegiate point for Bauer, a redshirt freshman from Bedford. Windham's Andrew Pesci made two saves to record his seventh shutout.

The Wildcats, ranked 14th in the latest United Soccer Coaches Division I national poll, improved to 6-0-2.

Adelphi 3, St. Anselm 0: In Goffstown, No. 3 Adelphi scored early in the first half, then twice more in the first six minutes of the second half to pull away from the Hawks (1-4-1).

SNHU 4, Stonehill 2: In Easton, Mass., the No. 14 Penmen scored two goals in 30 seconds, late in the game, to win it. Daniel Jones scored at 69:59 to put SNHU ahead 3-2, and Alex Satrustegui followed with goal at 70:16. Michael Rowley and Romain Daniellou also scored for the Penman (6-0-1 overall, 3-0-1 in the Northeast-10 Conference).

Keene State 2, Western Connecticut State 1: In Keene, the Owls rallied on a pair of goals by Promise Kpee of Manchester. KSC improved to 4-1-2 overall, 2-0 in the Little East Conference.

New England College 1, Maine Maritime 0: In Henniker, Tucker Stenger's goal in the 69th minute was the difference for the Pilgrims (2-3-2 overall, 1-1-1 in North Atlantic Conference play.
