MANCHESTER — A city woman who was pulled over by police on Union Street early Thursday and charged with drug possession with a 2-year-old in her car was stopped again Thursday evening with a passenger who was charged with drug possession, police said.

An officer said he noticed Christina Walsh, 40, cross a double yellow line on Union Street south of Webster Street in a Nissan Altima at 4:20 a.m., and when he pulled the car over noticed a plastic bag on the driver’s side floor mat and a 2-year-old child in a car seat in the back.

Walsh consented to a search and police found a capped hypodermic needle and a suboxone strip in her purse, police said, and two small bags of heroin hidden in her bra.

Walsh was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled drug and was released on $1,000 cash/surety bail. The child was released to the father and Walsh’s car was towed, police said.

Officers who stopped a gray Hyundai for a minor traffic violation at 4:55 p.m. Thursday in the area of Union and Green streets said they found Walsh driving the car with Sarah Perez, 26, of Manchester as a passenger.

According to police, Walsh consented to a search of the car and officers found two suboxone strips, two amphetamine prescription pills and two scales in a backpack belonging to Perez.

Walsh was not charged but Perez was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled drug.
