October 13. 2017 12:22AM

The University of New Hampshire men's hockey team will take a 2-0-0 record and a No. 20 national ranking into its weekend series with Colgate University.

The Wildcats defeated UMass Lowell, the defending Hockey East champion, twice in their home-and-home series last Friday and Saturday. UNH will host Colgate (2-0-1) Friday night at 7 and again Saturday night (7) at the Whittemore Center in Durham.

The Wildcats are tied for seventh in the nation in goals scored per game (3.5) while Colgate is tied for 14th (3.0).

Raiders freshman Trevor Cosgrove, a defenseman from Exeter, has played in two games this season. He registered an assist in Colgate's 5-1 season-opening triumph over Niagara University Sept. 30. Colgate's other two contests, both against Merrimack, resulted in a win and a tie.
