UNH completes sweep of Colgate

UNH took a two-goal first-period lead and never trailed in a 5-3 win over Colgate on Saturday at the Whittemore Center in Durham, completing a weekend sweep of the Raiders.

Jason Salvaggio scored twice, including an empty-net goal, for the 4-0 Wildcats. Brendan van Riemdsyk and Michael McNicholas scored their first goals of the season in the opening frame to stake UNH to a 2-0 lead. The 'Cats led 4-2 after two periods on goals from Salvaggio and Shane Eiserman.

Mike Panowky, Adam Dauda and Nick Austin scored for Colgate.

UNH goalie Danny Tirone made 23 saves in the win. Zac Hamilton made 30 saves for Colgate.

UNH hosts Colorado College for two games next weekend.
