NHIAA Field Hockey: Goffstown bounced by Portsmouth

Portsmouth goalie Kayleigh Vogel stopped all 14 shots, lifting the Clippers to a 1-0 victory over host Goffstown in an NHIAA Division II first-round tournament game on Tuesday.

Ellie Hunkins scored the lone goal for the No. 9 Clippers, who advanced to face top seed Souhegan in a quarterfinal on Friday afternoon in Amherst.

No. 8 Goffstown outshot Portsmouth 14-1.

In other first-round play, No. 7 Plymouth blanked No. 10 Sanborn 1-0 and moved on to play at No. 2 Windham, and Kennett shut out Hollis/Brookline 5-0, advancing to play at Derryfield of Manchester on Friday.
