Instrumental guitarist Ed Gerhard to perform

WAKEFIELD — Grammy Award-winning guitarist Ed Gerhard will play a 7 p.m. show Saturday at Wakefield Opera House, 2 High St., Sanbornville.

The Granite State musician plays the regional and national folk and acoustic scene, performing on six-string, slide guitar and acoustic Hawaiian lap slide.

Gerhard earned a Grammy for his work on the compilation CD “Henry Mancini; Pink Guitar.” Plus, Warner Brothers, MelBay and Hal Leonard all have released Gerhard’s music in books. His guitar work can be heard on recordings by Arlo Guthrie, Jorma Kaukonen and in the Ken Burns documentaries “Mark Twain” and “The National Parks: America’s Best Idea.”
