State police looking for witnesses in Thursday Spaulding Turnpike crash

DOVER — State police are looking for witnesses to Thursday afternoon’s motorcycle crash near Exit 9 on the Spaulding Turnpike.

The southbound lane of the highway was shut down for hours after a motorcyclist crashed while traveling in the high-speed lane, according to state police Sgt. David Kane.

Kane said they were on the scene for four hours. A man was transported to Frisbie Memorial Hospital in Rochester and then flown by helicopter to Boston with life-threatening injuries.
