Big win for PSU football

Plymouth State scored on offense, defense and special teams in a 40-14 dismantling of Mass. Martime on Saturday in MASCAC college football play in Buzzards Bay, Mass.

Quarterback Zack Edwards threw for one touchdown and ran for another. Running backs Mitch Banuskevich, of Milford, and David Hamilton had rushing TDs. Manchester's Prince Gbaley returned an interception 56 yards for a score and Brad Rhoades, of Epsom, grabbed a blocked punt and ran it in from 25 yards for the Panthers (7-1, 5-1 MASCAC).

Hawks get first victory

Pace missed an extra point with 1:16 remaining, and that was the difference as St. Anselm earned its first win of the season Saturday, a 35-34 victory over Pace in Pleasantville, N.Y.

Eric Fairweather's 11-yard TD pass to Kyle Hill with 6:37 to play put the Hawks up 35-28. Fairweather, of Londonderry, gained 156 yards and scored three touchdowns for the Hawks. His scoring pass was part of his 14-for-22 passing day for 128 yards. Wilden Germain added a 2-yard TD run for St. Anselm.

The Hawks are 1-6, and the Setters are 3-4.
