NH Business Newsmakers: Caron retiring from Merrimack County Savings Bank

CONCORD — Ed Caron, executive vice president and senior commercial lending officer for Merrimack County Savings Bank, is retiring on Jan. 5 after 21 years with the bank. James Gallagher, senior vice president, senior commercial loan officer, will take over Caron’s responsibilities.
Caron joined the bank as vice president and commercial loan officer. He was promoted to senior vice president in 2002 and to executive vice president in 2011.
Gallagher joined the Merrimack in 2002 as a credit analyst. He left in 2005, and went on to leadership positions at Peoples’ United Bank, Massachusetts Commercial Real Estate Finance, Citizens Financial Group and Northern New England Commercial Real Estate before returning to the Merrimack in 2015.
Endowment makes board moves
CONCORD — The Endowment for Health appointed Randy Foose chairman and elected Betsy Paine and John Snow as new members of the foundation’s board of directors. Foose, a longtime board member, replaced Bud Fitch, who stepped down last month.
Foose retired from the New Hampshire House of Representatives in November 2012 after serving four terms. Before that, he served in higher education for 35 years.
Paine is senior staff attorney for Court Appointed Special Advocates of New Hampshire (CASA). Prior to that, she was the longtime domestic violence specialist with the New Hampshire Circuit Courts.
Snow is president and managing director of Quabbin Capital Inc., a Boston-based private equity and alternative investment management firm. He has experience as a chartered financial analyst and a certified public accountant.
Conway, McLaughlin join Berkshire Hathaway Verani
BEDFORD — Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Verani Realty recently welcomed real estate agents Amanda Conway and Katherine McLaughlin to its team at 1 Club Acre Lane. Conway was raised in Florida and returned to New Hampshire, her birthplace, nearly 20 years ago. McLaughlin is a Bedford native now raising a family in town with her husband, Conor.
Avery joins Spaulding Youth Center
NORTHFIELD — Spaulding Youth Center named Cheryl Avery as its new director of development and community relations. Avery previously served as the executive director of the Boys & Girls Club of the Lakes Region.
Audubon honors Harrigan
CONCORD — John Harrigan, a longtime newspaper owner-publisher and columnist, was presented with the 2017 Tudor Richards Award by New Hampshire Audubon at its annual meeting last month. Since 1983, New Hampshire Audubon has presented an award to an individual who has worked tirelessly and effectively for conservation in the Granite State.
Cheshire Medical adds Buckley
KEENE — Trudi Buckley joined the occupational and environmental medicine department at Cheshire Medical Center. She previously worked in occupational health connections at Concord Hospital and occupational and employee health at Monadnock Community Hospital.
