NH Business Newsreel: CarMax expects to hire 17 in Manchester

MANCHESTER — CarMax said it plans to hire more than 2,000 employees by the end of the year, including 17 for its soon-to-open store in Manchester at 300 Keller St. at the former site of Walmart.

The Richmond, Va.-based used car retailer says it employs more than 24,000 people nationwide, and operates 180 stores in 39 states.

The majority of its new and open positions are for sales consultants, technicians, detailers and inventory associates, the company said.

Young professionals will meet Wednesday

MANCHESTER — The Manchester Young Professionals Network is hosting its 13th anniversary 5:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Bonfire Restaurant and Country Bar, 950 Elm St.

The networking and social event will include a brief program at 6:30 during which awards for Business of the Year and Young Professional of the Year will be presented.
