NH College Roundup: SNHU women ousted in D-II soccer

Mercy scored two late goals and beat the Southern New Hampshire University women’s soccer team 3-1 on Sunday in an NCAA Division II second-round game in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.
Trisha Luis’ penalty kick goal at 58:29 tied the game at 1-1, but the regional hosts’ Heidi Serna and Natalia Elizarraras scored less than two minutes apart in the final six minutes of the contest.
SNHU, which received five saves from goalkeeper Paige Salmon, finished 15-3-5.
St. A teams prevail
Shannon Ryan scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to lead the St. Anselm women’s basketball team to a 94-52 win over Concordia on Sunday in Lakewood, N.J. Bedford’s Ali Glennon had 15 points for St. Anselm (1-1).
In men’s play in Waltham, Mass., Tim Guers and Londonderry’s Cody Ball scored 21 points each to lead St. Anselm past Georgian Court, 71-48.
SNHU men win again
Chris Walters went 4-for-4 from the free throw line in the final 11 seconds, helping the SNHU men’s basketball team beat Goldey-Beacom 74-71 on Sunday at the SNHU Fieldhouse in Manchester.
Walters led the Penmen (2-0) with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Daquaise Andrews and Merrimack resident Dimitri Floras added 16 points each in the winning cause.
