PELHAM — A Milford man faces drugged driving charges after driving his 2015 Jeep Wrangler into a telephone pole and knocking out power to homes in the area Wednesday, police said.
Christopher Gaidmore, no age given, was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, operating after suspension and also having an electronic bench warrant.
After the 2:54 p.m. crash in the area of 9 Dutton Road in Pelham, Gaidmore was brought to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment.
He was in the custody of the Pelham Police Department Wednesday night, officials said.
Once the pole came down, live wires came on top of two other cars also traveling on Dutton Road. Nicki Darisse of Pelham was driving one of the cars, a 2013 Dodge Caravan and Felipe Figueiredo, also of Pelham, was driving the other, a 2008 Dodge pickup truck.
The Pelham Fire Department was able to free the wires so Darisse and others inside the Dodge Caravan could get out safely. Figueiredo got out of his pickup truck on his own. None of them were injured, officials said.
Police officials said the accident remains under investigation, additional charges may be forthcoming and anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact officer Mark Riddinger at 635-2411.
