CONCORD — The Capital Regional Development Council (CRDC) presented three awards at its recent Annual Banker Celebration at the Manchester Country Club in Bedford.
Merrimack County Savings Bank was recognized as CRDC’s Bank of the Year. The award, according to CRDC Executive Director Stephen Heavener, is based on the highest dollar amount of loans referred to CRDC in the fiscal year ending Sept. 30.
“CRDC is a nonprofit development corporation, and relies heavily on our relationships within the banking industry to achieve our mission,” Heavener said in a statement. “Merrimack County Savings Bank has been and continues to be a strong partner. They are a lead supporter of our work this (past) fiscal year and we recognize their support.”
CRDC also celebrated the dedication and support of James Goodhue, vice president/commercial lending officer at Primary Bank. The award is solely based on the dollar amount produced together by a commercial lender and CRDC.
“James is a direct link to CRDC’s financial success this year and we applaud him for his strong commitment to not only us, but ultimately to his banking customers,” Heavener said.
CRDC presented its inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award to Ed Caron, executive vice president and senior commercial lending officer at Merrimack County Savings Bank. Caron is scheduled to retire this month after 21 years with the bank.
“CRDC is greatly appreciative of Ed’s dedication and commitment in the banking industry and to us,” Heavener said. “Ed has been a strong advocate of CRDC, and we wish him well in his upcoming retirement.”
This year, CRDC funded 25 loans, including nine Small Business Administration loans totaling $3,182,000 and 16 direct loans totaling $2,201,750. Total loans funded or closed was $5,383,750.
