NHIAA Roundup: Memorial girls top Alvirne, improve to 5-0

The Manchester Memorial girls’ basketball team led by 23 points after the opening quarter and never looked back en route to a 77-31 victory over Alvirne of Hudson at Bronstein Gym on Monday night.
The Crusaders had three players register double-digit outputs on their way to improving to 5-0 on the season. Melanie Presseau recorded a game-high 13 points and freshman Lyric Grumblatt finished just behind her with 12 points. Ilyana Vega added 10 points for Memorial.
Kelly McDermott and Sarah Lavoie both scored six points for Alvirne (1-3).
Inter-Lakes 55, Moultonborough 46: In Moultonborough, Inter-Lakes got into a scoring rhythm in the second quarter on its way to the road triumph.
The Division IV Panthers (4-3) led by two points after the opening quarter before Division III Inter-Lakes (4-2) outscored them 20-10 in the second quarter and 15-8 in the third frame.
Eli Swanson led the Lakers with 18 points and teammate Jayden Lara chipped in 16 of his own.
Moultonborough’s Reese Swedberg led all scorers with 21 points.
