NHIAA Roundup: Concord tops Trinity hockey in overtime

Derek Kelleher’s power-play goal with 2:08 remaining in overtime handed the Concord High School boys’ hockey team a 4-3 victory over Trinity on Wednesday at Everett Arena.

Matt Hauschild (power play), Colin Castle and Evan Makris also scored for the Crimson Tide (5-1). Trinity (3-2) trailed 3-1 after two periods, but forced overtime on third-period goals by Brandon Boss Jimmy Kosiarski. Kosiarski’s goal came during a Trinity power play with 3:05 remaining in the third.

Trinity’s other goal came from Anthony Dizillo.

Spencer Burgess made 26 saves for Concord. Ethan Messner made 42 stops for the Pioneers.

Pinkerton 9, Manchester Memorial 1: At Memorial (JFK), senior Cody Sullivan and freshman Cooper Flinton each scored a pair of goals as Pinkerton stretched its record to 5-0.

Astro netminder Matt Gilliland made 20 saves, but Pat Goren got one behind him in the second period for the Crusaders (1-4).

Bishop Guertin 9, Salem 1: In Tyngsborough, Mass., Ben Peterson scored three goals and Ben Young finished with two to lead the Cardinals (3-0-1). Sebastian Farah scored for Salem (2-3). BG goalie Colin Freitas made 10 saves.

Dover 2, Windham 1: At Dover, Wyatt Allaire had a goal and an assist, including the second-period game-winner, for the Green Wave. Trevor Gnall had Dover’s first goal, assisted by Allaire and Garrett Swan, at 11:37 of the first period. Windham tied it up 58 seconds later on a Matthew Taylor breakaway backhand goal from Phil Tsoulakas and Matt Crowley. Windham outshot Dover, 23-22, and the teams went a combined 0-for-9 on the power play.

Spaulding 3, Merrimack 2: At Rochester, Merrimack (1-4) put 47 shots on goal but came away with the loss. Ryan Ellis and Ashton Langis each had a goal and two assists for Spaulding (1-4).

Girls’ hockey

Bishop Brady/Trinity/West 11, Bedford 3: In Hooksett, Sydney Herrington scored six goals and assisted on four others as Brady/Trinity/West improved to 4-0. Mary Anne Wiley and Lauren Trippiedi each had two goals and two assists. Bedford goalie Hannah Paradis made 42 saves. Brady/Trinity/West received 13 saves from Marie Barrioz.

Girls’ basketball

Goffstown 44, Oyster River 33: At Durham, the Grizzlies outscored the host Bobcats 13-4 in the third quarter to take control. Kelly Walsh led all scorers with 21 points, and Elena Topouzoglou and Livi Brannen had five each for 4-4 Goffstown.

Oyster River (0-5) got 12 points from Caitlyn Miller and 10 from Maddy Alphonse.
