College Roundup: Great night for St. Anselm hoop, hockey teams

The St. Anselm College men’s basketball team received 32 points from Tim Guers and beat American International College, 86-58, on Friday in Springfield, Mass.
The win was the eighth straight for the Hawks (13-3 overall, 9-2 in the Northeast-10).
Chris Paul checked in with 15 points and eight rebounds while junior Cody Ball, of Londonderry, and senior Taylor Fortin each scored 10 points.
St. Anselm 64, AIC 56: In Springfield, Mass., sophomore Sara Messler scored a team-leading 15 points on Friday, lifting the Hawks.
Sophomore Shannon Ryan added 13 points and six rebounds for St. Anselm (11-7, 7-4).
St. Anselm 5, Stonehill 0: In Boston, Mike Ferrero scored twice for the Hawks (6-7-1 overall, 3-2-0 in the Northeast 10), and Trey Aiello, Liam O’Sullivan and Matt Chisholm added the other goals. Senior goalie Shane Joyce stopped 26 shots for his third shutout of the season.
Dartmouth 4, Quinnipiac 3: In Hanover, Will Graber’s goal with 9.9 seconds remaining lifted the Big Green. Daniel Warpecha, Collin Rutherford and Corey Kalk also scored for Dartmouth, and goalie Devin Buffalo made 28 saves, to 29 for Quinnipiac’s Andrew Shortridge. Dartmouth (6-9-2 overall, 4-5-1 in the ECAC) hosts Princeton tonight.
Plymouth State: Due to the weather, the Panthers’ home game scheduled for tonight against UMass Dartmouth was postponed until Monday at 4 p.m.
St. Anselm 5, Plymouth State 1: In Goffstown, Kaley Campbell, Paige Gorecki and Haley Marshall scored in a span of 5:03 in the first period and the Hawks cruised. Kaitlyn Spillane and Ashley Moran also scored for St. Angels (13-1-1). Brooke Maggy scored for PSU (4-7-3).
