NH unemployment rate dips to 2.6% in December

CONCORD - The state's unemployment rate for December dropped to 2.6 percent versus 2.7 percent in November.
The December 2016 rate stood at 2.7 percent.
The number of employed residents last month totaled 724,510, a drop of 1,900 from November and a decrease of 6,290 from December 2016.
The number of unemployed residents totaled 19,530, a drop of 480 from November and 990 fewer than in December 2016.
From November to December 2017, the total labor force declined by 2,380 to 744,040. This was a decrease of 7,280 from December 2016.
Nationally, the unemployment rate for last month was 4.1 percent, unchanged from the November rate.
