HOUSTON — A business competition for military veterans is looking for new entrepreneurs, as applications are now being accepted for the 2018 Veterans Business Battle.

In the last three years, more than $2.5 million of investment offers have been extended to finalists.
To apply, applicants must submit a business plan on the competition website, www.vetbizbattle.com, by March 1.
Businesses must be majority owned by an honorably discharged veteran living in the United States.
All types of businesses are encouraged to apply, including both early-stage businesses and existing companies needing growth capital.
Finalists will be invited to make their business pitches April 13-14 at Rice University in Houston.
Previous winners have included retailers, technology firms, a commercial drone business, and other businesses.
