LEBANON — The Route 12A Bypass was closed Monday morning after a dump truck hit an Interstate 89 bridge and rolled over, police said.
The accident happened about 8 a.m. between the Upper Valley and Kmart plazas, police said.
Kris Sexton, 56, of West Lebanon, an employee of Notts Excavating of White River Junction, Vt., was removing snow from the plazas when he failed to lower the dump body of his truck while heading south on the bypass, hit the northbound I-89 bridge and rolled over police said.
Sexton suffered injuries that were not life threatening and was taken to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
The crash damaged the bridge structure. State Department of Transportation officials were evaluating the damage.
Sexton was issued a summons charging him with negligent driving — a violation — and is scheduled to appear in Lebanon circuit court April 23.
