LACONIA - An Arizona woman is suing DAE Aviation Enterprises Corp. alleging she was injured in a fall at the charter flight service’s airport business.

On April 23, 2016, Betty Curran of Peoria, Ariz., says she and a companion were waiting at the Emerson Aviation complex at Laconia Airport in Gilford when she fell while looking for a bathroom.

In court filings, Curran claims she lost her balance and tumbled down an open, unlighted stairwell to a cement floor below causing “severe” but unspecified injuries.

The Belknap County suit alleges the area where Curran fell was undergoing renovation and while plans called for a door above the stairwell there was none.

The suit further asserts insufficient lighting and no warning of the hazard contributed to the fall.

Curran has until March 24 to have Emerson served with notice of the civil suit, Emerson has 30 days after being served to have a lawyer file an appearance on its behalf. Curran is represented by attorney Christopher Seufert of Franklin, who filed the complaint Feb. 6.
