DOVER – A Rochester man is being held on $10,000 cash bail for allegedly firing a gun into the ground during an argument with his girlfriend.

According to police, Jarred Bartlett, 22, gave his 23-year-old girlfriend a ride home on Feb. 6. After she got out on Lakeview Drive in Dover, she told police, Bartlett fired a shot with a handgun before driving away.

Police say no injuries or property damage were reported.

Dover police conducted an investigation and arrested Bartlett at the Strafford County House of Corrections Tuesday, charging him with reckless conduct and criminal threatening.

Bartlett was already in jail after being arrested by Rochester police for a series of domestic violence incidents in that city involving the same victim.

Bartlett was arraigned at Strafford County Superior Court Tuesday. An official at the jail said he remained in custody Wednesday afternoon.
