Officers pulled over the newer model Infinity SUV on Ash Street just south of Bridge Street at 6:10 p.m., and saw the passenger reaching into his pants as they approached, police said.

The passenger, Elvis Rodriguez, 39, of Manchester, was arrested on two counts of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled drug, resisting arrest and possession of less than 3/4 of an ounce of marijuana after police said they saw a small bag of heroin on the floor of the SUV and then found 9.7 grams of heroin, 7.8 grams of crack cocaine, 1.8 grams of cocaine, 2.1 grams of marijuana and $550 cash stuffed in the front of his pants when he was searched, according to a release.

Rodriguez is on probation/parole related to other charges, police said.

Steven Torres, 37, of Haverhill, Mass., who was driving the SUV, was charged with transporting drugs, police said. He was to appear in Manchester circuit court Wednesday.
