NHIAA Roundup: Goren's hat trick paces Memorial hockey

Senior Patrick Goren scored three goals and assisted on two others to lead the Manchester Memorial boys’ hockey team to an 8-4 triumph against Manchester Central/West on Wednesday during Senior Night at JFK Arena.

Memorial’s four senior skaters each collected at least one goal, and the team’s other senior, goaltender Chuck Degust, made 27 saves. In addition to Goren, Jared Chandonnet collected two goals and an assist, and Eric Langley and Noah Munroe each scored once. Memorial’s other goal came from freshman Justin Russell.

The Crusaders (4-10-0) led 4-2 after one period and 6-4 entering the third. Sam Hebert scored three goals for Central/West (1-14-0). the Little Green received a goal and an assist from John McNichols and 19 saves from Jordan Lamarre.

Trinity 7, Salem 1: In Goffstown, freshman Anthony DiZillo scored four goals as the Pioneers stretched their Division I winning streak to five games. DiZillo has 10 goals in his last three games.

Trinity (8-6) received two goal from Mark L’Heureux and one from Aidan Ross. Anthony Survilas scored for Salem (6-6-1).

Concord 4, Pinkerton 3 (OT): In Hooksett, Derek Kelleher’s overtime goal handed the Crimson Tide an overtime victory. Lucas Masciarelli, Jon Last and Landon McClure scored for Pinkerton (12-3-0), which trailed 3-2 entering the third.

Bishop Guertin 9, Nashua South/Pelham 2: In Nashua, the Cardinals scored six goals in the third period to raise their Division I record to 10-4-1. Ben Peterson and Dominic Calandra each had two goals for BG, which received a goal and two assists from Mike Schaff. Justin Pinkston and Matt DiPrizio scored for Nashua South/Pelham (5-11).

Windham 2, St. Thomas 0: In Dover, Nolan Cunningham collected a goal and an assist and goaltender Max Daly made 30 saves to lead Windham (14-2-0). Alek Tunik also scored for the Jaguars. Chris Eno made 22 saves for St. Thomas (11-3-0).

Keene 2, Merrimack 0: At West Side Arena in Manchester, Joseph Walsh broke a scoreless tie 2:59 into the third period to lift the Blackbirds. Owen Haas and Tim Greenwood assisted. Greenwood scored an empty-netter with 1:02 to go to seal it. Dylan Reilly earned the win in goal with 20 saves. Greg Amato made 30 saves for Merrimack.

Dover 5, Lebanon/Stevens 4: In Lebanon, Dover scored twice in the final 48 seconds to extend its winning streak to seven games. Dover improved to 12-3-1 in Division II. Lebanon/Stevens fell to 11-5-0.

Girls’ basketball

Portsmouth 61, Laconia 23: In Portsmouth, Abby Laurence scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead the Clippers, who improved to 16-0 in Division II. Portsmouth received 10 points from Arianna Hebert and nine from Corinne Lamond.

Pelham 62, Timberlane 32: In Pelham, Danielle Sirois scored a game-high 20 points to lead Pelham (14-1). Olivia Gagnon added 10 points for the Pythons. Brielle Porter led Timberlane (6-10) with 10.

Boys’ basketball

Timberlane 67, Pelham 51: In Plaistow, Matt Perry tossed in 19 points and Bob Horgan finished with 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Owls (9-5). Sam Hovan added 11 points and 10 rebounds for Timberlane. The loss dropped Pelham to 7-4 in Division II.

Kearsarge 70, Stevens 42: In Claremont, Tayler Mattos finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds to help Kearsarge (11-4 in Division II) stretch its winning streak to eight games. Stevens fell to 8-7 in Division III.
