DERRY -- The Upper Room, a Family Resource Center, is offering a co-parenting class, "Crossroads of Parenting & Divorce," from 5:30:30 to 7:30 p.m. Mondays, March 5, 12 and 19, in its office at 36 Tsienneto Road.

This workshop is designed to address concerns and questions that separating and divorcing parents have, and explore how to keep the focus on the needs of their children.

Using a mix of video content and group discussion, parents will be encouraged to be aware of how their actions might affect their children. Parents will work on skills that help them stay child-focused and discuss ways to make good choices in an environment of conflict and loss.

"As a Family Resource Center, our aim is to help families and children thrive and flourish, and helping separated and divorced parents be effective co-parents is part of that mission," said Brenda Guggisberg, executive director of The Upper Room. "These are really 21st-century skills for co-parents to keep themselves and their children healthy while navigating the divorce process. We are committed to offering evidence-based programs, and this series does just that."

The cost is $80 per person and includes a book. To learn more, visit URteachers.org/parenting.
