Goffstown rallies to second straight team bowling titleStaff report

The Goffstown High School bowling team defeated Spaulding of Rochester, 4-3, to capture its second consecutive NHIAA state championship Saturday at Merrrimack Ten Pin.
Goffstown trailed 3-1, but ran off three straight wins to grab the title.
The top-seeded Grizzlies defeated eighth-seeded Bishop Guertin of Nashua, 4-0, in the quarterfinals and advanced to the final round after beating fifth-seeded Merrimack, 4-0, in the semifinals.
Goffstown's team was senior Ryan Gentes, freshman Jake Howell, junior Tyler Tadman, sophomore Madison Gentes, sophomore Damien Hamel, and subs Colby Bartolucci, a sophomore, Caroline Newell, a junior, and Ryan Edgar, a sophomore.
Second-seeded Spaulding beat 10th-seeded Pinkerton Academy of Derry, 4-1, in the quarterfinals and edged third-seeded Keene, 4-3, in the semifinals.
Spaulding's team included Ashley Gould, James Gannon, Nick Breeze, AJ Boilard, Xavier Bamford, Katelyn Gould, Addison Bailey and Matt Pomerleau
Pinkerton and Bishop Guertin advanced to the quarterfinals by defeating seventh-seeded Sanborn of Kingston and ninth-seeded Hollis/Brookline in the preliminary round.
The top 64 bowlers in the state will compete in the state individual bowling championship next Saturday at Strikers East in Raymond.
