The Dana Center, world-class performing arts on the campus of Saint Anselm College, is proud to present Séamus Egan Project and The East Pointers on Thursday, March 15th at 7:30pm.
“Egan, an Irish-American from Philadelphia who spent seven years in Ireland, demonstrates his mastery of the flue and the banjo.” – All Music
Seamus Egan, founding member of the seminal band Solas, will be touring for the first time ever, as the Seamus Egan Project, bringing along friends and musical guests, and introducing fans to both the entirety of his immense and influential catalog of music, as well as new music he’s never recorded or performed live.
“(The East Pointers) are remarkable for writing songs that rework their Scottish and Irish influences, and they specialise in instrumentals that sound like tuneful Celtic standards, with banjo and fiddle both taking the lead.” - The Guardian
Opening will be The East Pointers, three young men whose talent and penchant for traditional Celtic tunes of decades past greatly belie their respective ages. This promises to be an incredible evening exploring the further reaches of the Irish musical traditions and just in time for Saint Patty’s Day!
