HAMPSTEAD — Voters on Tuesday again rejected a proposal to renovate and expand Hampstead Central School.

By a vote of 708 to 672, the $7.4 million bond failed to get the 60 percent majority needed for passage.

The proposal required 828 “yes” votes to pass.
