Somersworth woman arrested, charged in stabbing

SOMERSWORTH — A 56-year-old Somersworth woman was arrested and charged with stabbing another person Tuesday.

Capt. Tim McLin said police were called to 362 Main St. at 8:58 a.m. when it was reported that a man was bleeding. Upon arrival, police determined the stabbing took place in apartment 7.

The victim was transported to Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover with multiple stab wounds.

Renee Shaw, who lives at that address, was arrested for first-degree assault.

Shaw refused bail and was booked at Strafford County House of Corrections, where she will remain until her arraignment Wednesday afternoon.

McLin said they are still investigating the stabbing.
