College Roundup: Delea scores 4 for FPU

Senior midfielder Sean Delea of Hampstead led all players with four goals and an assist while junior attack Jake Castorf and senior midfielder Benjamin Lassow added three goals apiece Sunday as the Franklin Pierce University men’s lacrosse rolled over American International 16-7 in the team’s home opener.

With the win, Franklin Pierce improves to 3-0 (2-0 Northeast-10), while American International falls to 1-5 (0-3 NE10).

Senior attack Jack Carney of Dunbarton dished out four assists. Junior Luke Tracy of Windham had a goal.

Women’s lacrosse

Bowdoin 18, Plymouth State 3: At Brunswick, Maine, Veronica Daniels of Concord scored for the Panthers. Bowdoin scored 17 straight goals after falling behind 3-1.


Cal State Bakersfield 7, Dartmouth 5: At Bakersfield, Calif., junior Sean Sullivan provided a career-high four hits for the Big Green (3-8) as CSUB won three of four in the series.

Tyler Fagler (0-1) took the loss in his first collegiate start, giving up four runs in three innings of work on five hits and three walks with one strikeout.

Justin Fowler and Hayden Rappoport collected two hits for Dartmouth.


Babson 11, Plymouth State 3: At Clermont, Fla., senior Nina Murray had two hits for the Panthers. Ashley Deyo of Dover drove in two.

Plymouth State 8, Worcester State 7: At Clermont, Fla., the Panthers’ Nina Murray ripped a walk-off RBI double to cap a four-run bottom of the seventh inning.

Senior Allison Moylan pitched 3 2/3 strong innings in relief to earn the win and move to 1-1.

Junior Hannah Seidner of Pembroke had double and single, Nora Butler had a triple and a single, driving in four, and Taylor Wood of Londonderry had two singles.

Dartmouth 6, Houston 4: At Houston, Claire Bird drove in two and scored one for the Big Green.

Eastern Kentucky 2, Dartmouth 0: At Houston, Breanna Ethridge pitched all seven innings, allowed four hits, walked two and struck out five.
