NH unemployment rate remains 2.6 percent

CONCORD - New Hampshire's preliminary seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February was 2.6 percent, unchanged from January, New Hampshire Employment Security reported Tuesday. The February 2017 seasonally adjusted rate was 2.8 percent.
The number of employed residents in February was 728,000, an increase of 790 from January and an increase of 2,420 from February 2017, the department said. The number of unemployed residents decreased by 180 from January to 19,180 - 1,420 fewer unemployed than in February 2017.
From January to February 2018, the total labor force increased by 610 to 747,180, an increase of 1,000 from February 2017.
Nationally, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2018 was 4.1 percent, unchanged from January, and a decrease of 0.6 percentage points from February 2017. The national unadjusted rate for February 2018 was 4.4 percent, a decrease of 0.1 percentage point from January, and a decrease of 0.5 percentage points from February 2017.
