College Roundup: Sheehy leads way for St. Anselm women

Wilmot’s Meagan Sheehy, a senior, scored seven goals and added an assist, leading the St. Anselm College women’s lacrosse team past St. Michael’s 20-10 in a Northeast-10 Conference contest on Tuesday at Grappone Stadium in Goffstown.
Sheehy’s production came one game after she had five goals and six assists, including her 100th career point, in St. Anselm’s win on Saturday over Southern Connecticut.
Erica Mattila added five goals, including her 100th career point, as the Hawks improved to 4-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Marta Versprille added three goals and Londonderry’s Breda Holland scored twice and had an assist. Also scoring for St. Anselm were Emma Palumbo, Madison Shea and Molly Beck.
Franklin Pierce 13, Roberts Wesleyan 10: In Rochester, N.Y., the Ravens trailed 9-8 heading into the fourth quarter before rallying to remain unbeaten (4-0). Benjamin Lassow scored five goals, Hampstead’s Sean Delea and Dunbarton’s Jack Carney added two goals each.
No. 10 Virginia 12, Dartmouth 6: In Charlottesville, Va., Ben Martin had a hat trick for the 2-4 Big Green.
Dartmouth opens Ivy League play on Saturday at Harvard.
Franklin Pierce 4, St. Thomas 2: In Brookhaven, N.Y., junior right-hander Anthony Matarazzo struck out nine over seven innings without allowing an earned run and graduate student first baseman Mike Coggeshall slugged a fourth-inning home run to lead the Ravens (10-6-1). FPU travels to Adelphi on Saturday.
