Manchester police arrest city man in Saint Mary's Bank robbery

MANCHESTER — A city man was arrested Monday night and charged in an afternoon robbery at the Elm Street branch of Saint Mary’s Bank, police said.
An officer on patrol at Lave Avenue and Union Street about 7:45 p.m. recognized that Danien Brousseau, 39 matched the description of the man who robbed the 234 Elm St. bank about 2:30 p.m. and arrested him on an outstanding warrant, police said. After further investigation, Brousseau was charged in the bank robbery.
According to a release, Officer Thomas Florenzo had found money bands, gloves and a sweatshirt in Valley Street Cemetery following the robbery, but even with the help of a K-9 did not find the robber. Later, Officer Florenzo saw Brousseau on the street and stopped him, police said.
