Gifts needed for baby shower for vets' families

MANCHESTER — A baby shower for veterans and their partners who have recently had a baby or are expecting a baby in 2018 is being planned by the VA Medical Centers of Manchester; White River Junction, Vt.; and Bedford, Mass., and donations are still needed.

The shower will take place at the Manchester VA Medical Center on Sunday, May 6, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Those interested in attending are asked to RSVP by Friday, April 20, at /r/VGGQLMJ.

VA staff will be onhand to assist those not already enrolled with the VA.

Donations of new items are needed by Friday, April 27.

Items could include infant swings, Graco Pack ’n Play units, strollers, high chairs, car seats, Fisher-Price Rock ’n Play Sleepers, activity centers and gyms, bassinets, monitors, sound machines, bottles, bottle brushes, sippy cups, pacifiers, blankets, fitted crib sheets, multipack bibs, baby washcloths and towels, onesies and pajamas for boys and girls (0-12 months), diapers sizes 1-3, wipes, diaper pails, baby shampoo, body wash, lotions, bath sets, Safety 1st kits, Boppy pillows and covers, bathtubs and supports, baby toys, teethers and disposable nursing pads.

Gift cards are also welcome for the purchase of baby items or items to support the parents’ wellbeing.
