NH Veterans News: Pelham VFW serving Loyalty Day dinner

PELHAM — Loyalty Day is May 1, and the public is invited to a Loyalty Day veterans’ benefit dinner to honor the outstanding members of the community on Saturday, May 5.

All proceeds from the Italian dinner will benefit ­veterans programs.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. at the St. Patrick Church clubhouse, located at 12 Main St., Pelham. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. Admission costs $10 per adult and $5 per child younger than 12. Contact Dot and Gene Carter at (603) 635-7863 for more information.

The dinner is sponsored by the John H. Hargreaves Memorial Post 10722 VFW and Auxiliary of Pelham.

Blessing of the bikes is May 12 in Hooksett

HOOKSETT — Hooksett American Legion Riders, Chapter 37, is hosting a blessing of the bikes and poker run on Saturday, May 12.

Riders are to meet at American Legion Post 37, located at 5 Riverside St. in Hooksett.

The event is open to the general public.

Cars, trucks and bikes are welcome.

The cost is $15 per rider, and $10 per passenger. The profits will be donated to Liberty House.

A buffet breakfast will be offered from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at a cost of $10 per adult, and $5 for seniors and kids. Kids 10 and younger eat for free.

The blessing of the bikes will take place from 9:45 to 10:30 a.m.

Kick stands go up at 10:30 a.m.

MANCHESTER — Jutras Post 43 is hosting a dinner of baked ham today at 6 p.m. for a cost of $10 per person.
