High School Roundup: Souhegan girls now 5-0

Savannah Behn scored the game-winning goal inside the final two minutes of play to lift the Souhegan of Amherst girls’ lacrosse team to a 9-8 road victory over Portsmouth on Wednesday.

Behn and Abby Cranney both had a hat trick for the defending Division I champion Sabers (5-0). O’Neill Galinson added two goals and Alex LaBrosse made four saves for Souhegan.

Syd Ludes had a hat trick and Lily Madden scored twice for defending Division II champion Portsmouth (1-2). Grace Jackson made seven stops for the Clippers.

Campbell 17, Trinity 3: In Manchester, Jocelyn Theriault logged four goals and three assists and Hannah Douglas had a hat trick for Campbell of Litchfield (1-2). Caitlin Newell and Emma Montenero each added two goals for the Cougars. Nicole Calder scored twice for Trinity (0-2).

Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough 14, Belmont 4: In Belmont, Taylor Colby scored five goals for Inter-Lakes/Moultonborough (1-2). Reagan Buhrman tallied four goals, Taylor Ambrose had three goals and Sammy Kernen scored twice for the Lakers.

Pinkerton 15, Hanover 2: In Hanover, Lily Auger scored four times and Lauren Lisauskas had two goals and two assists for Divsion I Pinkerton Academy of Derry (5-0). Kiley Davis, Meg Michaud, Madison Daziel and Zoe Howe each scored twice and Dani Martineau made eight saves for the Astros. Division II Hanover (1-2) scored once in each half.

Pinkerton 9, Bishop Guertin 8 (Tuesday): In Nashua, Lauren Lisauskas scored three goals and added two assists as the Astros edged the Cardinals in a battle of Division I unbeatens. Kiley Davis added three goals for the Astros (4-0), who also received one goal and one assist from Meg Michaud and a goal apiece from Madison Daziel and Lily Auger. BG (4-1) was led by Katie Lupo and Emily Stanton, who scored two goals apiece. 

Windham 17, Timberlane 3: In Plaistow, Ryanne Farrell tallied seven goals for Windham (3-1), which led 13-1 at halftime. Allie Connelly (four) and Madison Connelly (two) joined Farrell with multiple goals. Jaguars goalie Alex Perkins stopped two shots. Timberlane is 0-2.

Derryfield 18, Bishop Brady 6: In Manchester, Cali Bishop had seven goals and Lucy Licata and Olivia Strong both had a hat trick for Derryfield (1-1). Maggie Cissel made five saves for the Cougars. Bishop Brady of Concord is 1-1.

Boys’ lacrosse

Trinity 9, Campbell 6: Jimmy Kosiarski, Will Brown and Nick Roy each scored twice for Trinity of Manchester (2-1). Mike Etzo, Ryan Etzo and Dillon Brown each scored once for the Pioneers. Colby Wilson and Cam Barrett both tallied three goals and an assist for Campbell (0-3).

Goffstown 14, Alvirne 3: In Hudson, Nick Mason scored five goals and Eric Dubois had a hat trick for Goffstown (2-0). Griffin Cook tallied a goal and two assists and Finn Grant made nine saves for Goffstown. Alvirne is 0-3.


Belmont 3, Gilford 1: In Belmont, Freshman Morgan Hall earned her first varsity win, striking out four, walking three and hitting a batter. Makenzie Donovan went 3-for-4 and Lizzie Fleming went 2-for-3 for the Red Raiders (2-1). Belmont scored two runs in the third inning and brought home another in the sixth.

Gilford (1-1) tallied three hits in the third inning but came away with only one run in the frame.

Pinkerton 9, Timberlane 8: In Derry, Timberlane of Plaistow plated two runs in the seventh inning but Pinkerton (3-1) cut the Owls’ comeback short. Briahna Janulwicz drove in what proved to be the game-winning run in the sixth frame. Mattie Sullivan and Jackie Cerri both logged inside-the-park home runs for the Astros. Jill Aziz had two hits and scored two runs for Timberlane (3-1).

Londonderry 15, Bishop Guertin 1 (6 inn.): In Nashua, Lauren Misiaszek went 5-for-5 with four RBIs and Gia Komst went 2-for-4 with three RBIs for Londonderry (3-1). Ila Brown earned the win, allowing two hits and one walk on nine strikeouts. Bishop Guertin is 0-3.

Windham 8, Pelham 2: In Pelham, Abby Bedient starred out of the circle for Windham (2-1), allowing just three hits and striking out 12. Bedient’s effort was backed by two RBIs apiece from Jasmine Moskowitz and Lindsey Murphy. Pelham (3-1) got two hits from Jess Slaton, including a solo homer.

Spaulding 6, Salem 5 (8 inn.): In Rochester, Spaulding scored the winning run on a fielder’s choice. Hannah Winship hit a three-run home run and Emma Proulx had an RBI for the Red Raiders (4-1). Salem, led by Sydney Emerson’s two-run homer, is 2-1.

Goffstown 3, Pembroke 1: In Goffstown, the Grizzlies broke a 1-1 tie with a two-run fourth inning. Shannon Gifford earned the win, striking out seven and allowing four hits. Justine Watterson went 2-for-3 with a run scored and Teghan Coyle went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Goffstown (3-0).

Campbell 7, Bishop Brady 2: In Litchfield, Marissa Carignan earned the win, allowing three hits and no runs alongside eight strikeouts over six innings. Ally McKenna, Emma Rousseau, Liv Garand and Cassidy Gibbons each had two hits for the Cougars (3-0). Bishop Brady of Concord is 2-1.

Milford 9, Souhegan 2: In Amherst, Jenna DeAngelis earned the win, striking out 11 batters and allowing one earned run. Raven Comtois went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run for Milford (3-0). Teammates Paige Delier and Stephanie Bishop both had two hits. Madison Robicheau went 2-for-4 for the Sabers (2-1).

Keene 7, Manchester Central 5: In Manchester, Keene (2-1) logged 13 hits and received eight strikeouts from Alyssa Bartlett, who also walked two, hit a batter and gave up nine hits. Bartlett also had three hits at the plate. Teammates Megan Healey, Emma Bartlett and Brandie Worcester each had two hits. Manchester Central is 1-2.


Timberlane 1, Pinkerton 0: In Plaistow, Max Morasse pitched a five-hitter with two walks for Timberlane (3-1). Derek Hiscox allowed one earned run on three hits and four walks alongside three strikeouts for Pinkerton (2-3). Connor Jenkins, Richie Marique, Brady Day and George Welch each had a hit for the Astros.

Souhegan 10, Milford 0 (6 inn.): In Amherst, Souhegan (1-2) scored three runs in both the second and third innings and added two runs in both the fourth and sixth frames. Jacob Grassett struck out nine, walked one and allowed six hits on his way to the shutout win. Max Leonard recorded a triple and Aidan Casey had two RBIs for the Sabers. Billy Dobbs had two hits for Milford (1-1).

Goffstown 11, Pembroke 1: In Goffstown, Taylor French tossed five innings of one-run ball and struck out eight for the Grizzlies (2-0). Goffstown’s offense was paced by Justin Pinard’s two hits. Cole Hapgood had one of four hits for Pembroke (0-2).

Merrimack 5, Trinity 4: In Manchester, Merrimack (1-3) plated four runs in the sixth inning to rally back from a 4-1 deficit. Cole Keefe of the Tomahawks hit a two-run single to tie the game at 4-4 in the frame. Ryan Stultz had two RBIs and a double and Dylan O’Sullivan had a double and a run scored for Trinity (0-3).

Keene 9, Manchester Central 7: In Keene, Cam Chamberlain hit a grand slam for the Blackbirds (3-1). Kyle Swetland hit a three-run home run and Nate Goonan had two hits for Manchester Central (1-2).

Windham 10, Pelham 2: In Windham, Tom Splagounias continued his hot start for the Jaguars (2-0), leading the way with two hits, three RBIs and three runs scored. JoJo Gallo and Tyler Toohey pitched in for Windham with two hits and an RBI each. Toohey hurled a four-hitter, allowing two unearned runs and striking out six. Bobby Charehe had an RBI for Pelham (2-1).

Campbell 11, Bishop Brady 8: In Litchfield, Keegan Mills went 4-for-4 with two triples, a single and a double for Campbell (2-0). He also earned his second save by striking out the side in the seventh inning. Teammate Jake Donovan logged three hits.

Pittsfield 2, Hopkinton 1: In Hopkinton, Casey Clark allowed two hits and one run over five innings for Pittsfield (1-1). Teammate Kyle Stockman went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Hopkinton is 3-1.

Littleton 10, Lisbon 0 (6 inn.): In Lisbon, Derek Walker struck out 12 over four innings to earn the win and Jacob Allaire had a two-run home run for Littleton (3-0). Lisbon is 2-2.

ConVal 10, Hollis/Brookline 3 (12 inn.): In Hollis, ConVal plated seven runs on five hits in the 12th frame. Casey Burgess pitched five shutout innings for the Cougars.

Boys’ volleyball

Pinkerton 3, Bishop Guertin 1: In Derry, Pinkerton won, 25-18, 16-25, 25-15, 25-18. Brian Castle had 38 assists, Hunter Hazard logged 21 kills and Ty Behsman recorded 15 service points for the Astros (5-0). Nate Newton had nine kills and 11 digs for Bishop Guertin of Nashua (1-3).
