Connor Hujsak tossed a no-hitter to highlight the Goffstown High School baseball team’s 4-2 road victory against Plymouth on Monday.
Hujsak struck out 11 as the Grizzlies raised their Division II record to 4-0. Goffstown received two hits and an RBI from Ethan Smith, and an RBI single from Nick Labrie.
Nashua North 4, Manchester Central 3: In Nashua, starter Joe Berman helped the Titans gut out a win, scattering six hits and three runs while striking out four over six innings. Varun Lingadal and Will Brooks accounted for all of North’s offense with two RBIs each. Central slipped to 1-3.
Timberlane 4, Winnacunnet 0: In Hampton, junior Ryan Bourque threw a complete game and struck out eight and also collected two hits and drove in three runs for the Owls (4-2). Connor Schott added an RBI single.
Andrew Mills took the loss for Winnacunnet (0-6). Mills allowed four runs in five innings.
Prospect Mountain 3, Campbell 1: In Alton, Chad Piwnicki pitched a four-hitter with 12 strikeouts. James Cardello pitched 4 1/3 innings for Campbell (2-1) and gave up one earned run and recorded five strikeouts. Dave Latsha doubled and Matt Graveline had a pinch-hit single for Campbell’s only run. Prospect Mountain is 2-1.
Windham 13, Lebanon 6: In Lebanon, the Jaguars (3-1) had Tommy Costa, JoJo Gallo, Tom Splagounias and Tommy Langlois each post two RBIs in the win. Costa and Gallo each added two hits and two runs scored to go with their RBIs. Jon Willeman led Lebanon (1-3) with two hits and three RBIs.
John Stark 10, ConVal 0: In Peterborough, Derek Goldrick pitched a six-inning complete game and limited ConVal (3-2) to one hit. Goldrick, who struck out 11, also collected two hits and two RBIs. Noah Greene and Aaron Robertson also had two hits for the Generals (3-0). Jake Cole added a two-run single.
Pinkerton 15, Alvirne 0 (5 inn.): In Derry, the Astros (3-3) went wild on the Broncos as Connor Jenkins (three hits, two RBIs) and Jake McGill (two hits, three RBIs) led the Pinkerton offense. Asa Runge took the win for Pinkerton after striking out seven over four scoreless innings. Alvirne fell to 0-5.
Salem 12, Trinity 7: In Manchester, Corey Cochran and Matt Soldano each clubbed homers to push the Blue Devils (3-4). Soldano finished with two RBIs, three runs scored and three stolen bases while Cochran knocked in three runs and scored twice. Trinity (0-5) got two hits from apiece from Tom Rock (two RBIs) and Dylan O’Sullivan (RBI).
Derryfield 14, Nute 2: In Milton, Derryfield (2-1) took control by scoring seven runs in the fifth inning and three in the sixth. Oliver Simon earned the win for pitching a six-inning complete game. He struck out nine, didn’t allow an earned run and walked two. Tobey Lynch, Sawyer Strong and Isaiah Baker each had two hits for the Cougars. Lynch also scored four runs and drove in two. Nute fell to 0-4.
Concord 15, Merrimack 5: In Concord, Kurtis Stadnicki collected four hits, including a solo home run, for the Crimson Tide in this contest that was shortened to five innings by the mercy rule. Zach Miles had two hits, scored three runs and drove in three runs for Concord (6-1). Alex Buteau had three RBIs and Eric Sullivan drove in two. Merrimack dropped to 2-5.
Sanborn 8, Pembroke 2: In Pembroke, Luke LeBlanc picked up the win on the mound for Sanborn (2-3) as his offense scored seven runs over the final three innings, including a four-run seventh. Cole Hapgood struck out six in four innings for Pembroke (1-4).
Salem 2, Keene 0: In Keene, Brianna Marino pitched a complete game with 11 strikeouts and collected two hits for the Blue Devils (4-1). Marino allowed three hits and walked one. Sydney Emerson added a two-out, RBI single in the sixth inning. Molly Harvey had a double for the Blackbirds (3-2).
Derryfield 9, Nute 6: In Milton, Derryfield (3-1) pounded out 10 hits in the win. Emmah Nolan and Anna Welch each went 3-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Cougars starter Emily Moll posted 10 strikeouts and scattered four hits to earn the victory. Nute is 0-4.
Plymouth 3, Goffstown 1: In Plymouth, the Bobcats (4-1) downed the Grizzlies (3-1) with a two-run sixth inning, which was fueled by Goffstown errors. Shannon Gifford struck out seven and allowed three hits over six innings for Goffstown.
Dover 10, Manchester Memorial 6: In Dover, Libby Hyson’s two-run home run highlighted the first win of the season for the Green Wave. McKenna Gladysz ripped a three-run homer for Memorial (0-5).
Raymond 12, Newfound 9: In Bristol, Ema Boucher and Nicolle Hartford each came away with two hits and two RBIs for Raymond (2-2). The Rams also got three hits from Maddie Robinson while freshman Emma Hodgkins (12 strikeouts) picked up her first varsity win in the circle. Newfound is 1-3.
Nashua South 9, Salem 3: In Nashua, Abbey Rowe stopped 15 shots and the Nashua South defense, led by Tara Saliany, Emma Pucillo, Hannah Dumaine, Izzy Bolduc and Maddie Sewade, played well in front of her. Liz Harrington scored five goals and Kirsten McIntire added three for the Purple Panthers (2-3). Sarah Signorello added a goal.
Portsmouth 20, Windham 8: In Windham, the Jaguars trailed by just three at halftime before the Clippers outscored them 11-2 in the second half. Ryanne Farrell scored five times for Windham (3-2), which had three players post a goal each. Portsmouth improved to 3-2.
Bishop Guertin 15, Souhegan 4: In Amherst, Brian Cameron posted a 10-point game with four goals and six assists for the Cardinals, who improved to 6-0. Sean Cameron led BG’s scoring with five scores while Drew Hailey and Sam Prunier each added a pair. Riley Lawhorn scored twice for Souhegan (3-3).
Londonderry 18, Windham 9: In Windham, the Lancers (3-1) got five goals apiece from Anthony Federico and Jeff Wiedenfield. Division II Windham fell to 4-1.
John Stark 15, Pembroke 4: In Weare, Kayden Easter scored five for the Generals while Noah Bellemore struck four times. Ethan Konrad made eight saves for John Stark, which improved to 2-2.
